The organization in charge of selecting which Hollywood figures are getting their stars, the Walk of Fame Selection Panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, has chosen Carpenter and Englund as part of their class of 2025. Other selections include Jessica Chastain, Colin Farrell, Fran Drescher, and Jane Fonda, among many others. As reported by Fangoria, Peter Roth, chairman of the committee, was pretty ecstatic in his message about the upcoming additions to the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame:
I am thrilled to announce the distinguished honorees who will grace the iconic Walk of Fame in the Class of 2025. Each honoree truly embodies the essence of excellence in their respective fields.The committee and I cannot wait to see our honorees becoming part of this world-famous walkway!
Englund took to his X account to express his joy at the honor of receiving the star:
Carpenter, who doesn't really share the spirit of Hollywood's theatrics, was funnier in his initial impression, although he did soon "recant" and share follow-up post.

Englund, among his many roles in movies and television, played Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven's 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street. Krueger was the ghoul who preyed on teenage victims when they fell asleep and tried to kill them in the dreamscape of horrific nightmares His iconic outfit, the brown pants, the Fedora hat, and the striped sweater, were only secondary to his weapon of choice: a terrifying crafted leather glove that had very sharp blades for fingers and which he often used to slash his victim's bodies. Carpenter was the director and co-writer of Halloween, the 1978 slasher film that would pave the way for an extremely successful genre in Hollywood. The seminal movie, which served as a springboard for the career of a young Jamie Lee Curtis, was not only written and directed by Carpenter, but he also scored the movie as well. This is something that he has gone on to do for many of both his movies and the films of other directors. Halloween was an incredibly simple movie that proved what you could do with a very low budget and a really bad William Shatner mask. The franchise is still pumping out sequels and reboots almost 50 years later.
