Enhanced event tickets support stadium maps, weather data, and other personalized info. It'll roll out first for the Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) home match on Oct. 19.
Ticketmaster will become the first company to use Apple's new enhanced ticket experience, which adds contextual information about the event to tickets stored in Apple Wallet.
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) home match on Oct. 19 will be the first opportunity for fans to try the new experience by adding enhanced tickets to their iPhones. The Miami Heat will be the next to use the new tickets, followed by a broader rollout in 2025.
The new tickets will bring stadium maps, parking and transit information, weather data, contact location sharing, and integration with Apple Music. Each supported event, from sports to concerts, will have customized guides.
Apple first announced the enhanced ticket feature at WWDC in June, and it rolled out with iOS 18. Enhanced tickets for the LAFC game at BMO Stadium can be purchased through the Ticketmaster app or the LAFC team app and then added to the Wallet app. Users must have iOS 18 installed to take advantage of the updated tickets.
It's been a rocky year for Ticketmaster, which has faced data breaches and ransom demands, as well as a federal antitrust probe "for monopolization and other unlawful conduct that thwarts competition in markets across the live entertainment industry."
