Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans will reunite for a Scary Movie reboot after nearly two decades.
Six months after news broke that the Scary Movie franchise was working on its sixth installment at at CinemaCon, it has been confirmed that the three brothers, who developed the parody films, are all on board.
'We couldn't be more excited to be a part of the new Scary Movie and work with each other again. This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago,' the siblings told Deadline. 'We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again.'
Jonathan Glickman, CEO of Miramax, also told the outlet that he was 'thrilled to reunite Scary Movie with the Wayans brothers, the brilliant creators behind the beloved franchise.'
'The timing is perfect to bring back the series to the big screen and we're lucky to have Keenen, Marlon and Shawn's unique comedic vision bringing it to audiences around the world,' Glickman raved.

Marlon and Shawn both posted about the exciting news on their respective Instagram accounts as they teased they were 'finally going to give the fans what they've been asking for' after all these years.
'We're looking forward to having fun on the big screen again,' they added.
Fans were quick to comment as they called the project 'long overdue.'
'Bring Ana Farris and Regina Hall please,' one fan wrote.
Another commented: 'I'm happy and proud of y'all!'
'Dope now can yall do White Chicks next?!?! It has been 20 years!' a third requested.
Scary Movie 6 is is set to begin shooting next year for a theatrical release in 2025.
This marks the first time the brothers have worked together on a new original screenplay in 18 years, according to Deadline.
The plot and release date have not been announced, at this time.
