Netflix's Terminator anime series, Terminator Zero, has found it titular robot assassin, with Justified star Timothy Olyphant now all set to voice the iconic character. Netflix made the announcement at the Netflix: Animation event in L.A., taking to social media to share some images from the series alongside the news that Olyphant will not feel pity, or remorse, or fear as he joins the Terminator franchise.

Timothy Olyphant is best recognized for his lead role as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens in FX's modern Western crime series, Justified, which recently returned for the miniseries revival Justified: City Primeval. The actor is also known for his role in another Western series, Deadwood, as well as roles in the likes of Hitman, Die Hard 4.0, aka Live Free or Die Hard, the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, and the Netflix comedy series Santa Clarita Diet.

Terminator Zero Is Due to Debut on Netflix in August Close
Created and executive produced by Mattson Tomlin (The Batman Part II) and executive produced by Skydance Animation by Production IG Studios, the eight-episode series will be part of the Terminator universe but will tell a wholly new story featuring new characters. Terminator Zero will consist of 8 episodes and is set to be directed by Masashi Kudo (Bleach, Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas).

Terminator Zero showrunner Mattson Tomlin recently sat down to discuss Netflix's new anime and the reason behind its lack of firearms.
Creator Mattson Tomlin recently teased what to expect from the Terminator anime series, promising that the show will take "big swings" and break conventions while subverting the iconic sci-fi action franchise.
"Anyone who knows my writing knows I believe in taking big swings and going for the heart. I'm honored that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks conventions, subverts expectations and has real guts."
Terminator Zero is due to debut on Netflix on the anniversary of Judgment Day, August 29.
