Apple TV+'s newest series is one for the ages!
On Tuesday, July 9, the network dropped the trailer for Time Bandits, the television adaptation of Terry Gilliam's beloved cult classic 1981 movie.
Created for the small screen by Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Iain Morris (The Inbetweeners) and Taika Waititi (Reservation Dogs), the 10-episode show follows an 11-year-old history buff named Kevin (played by Kal-El Tuck), who discovers his room contains a portal that allows him to travel through space and time.
Amid his journey, he becomes the latest recruit of an eccentric, ragtag group of "expert" thieves guided by the overly confident Penelope (Lisa Kudrow, who returns with a full-time role in a live-action TV series after celebrated roles in Friends, The Comeback and Web Therapy).
Together, they set out on a series of epic adventures through the distance past, with Kevin shedding light on history with the bandits while seeking out treasure and flee evil forces threatening their conquests. Along the way, they "witness the creation of Stonehenge, escape from dinosaurs in the prehistoric ages, wreak havoc during medieval times, experience the Ice Age and visit ancient civilizations, the Harlem Renaissance" and more.
