Summary Kevin Feige confirms several details about The Fantastic Four reboot including its game-changing setting. Excited Feige considers The Fantastic Four to be legendary pillars of the Marvel Universe. The Fantastic Four is scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feigehas confirmed some major details regarding the upcoming MCU reboot ofThe Fantastic Four. During a recent interview on The Official Marvel Podcast, Feige revealed that SPOILER ALERTFantastic Four will be a "period" piece set in the 1960s and hints that it will take place in an alternate universe from the main Earth-616. Check out what Feige had to say about the highly anticipated Marvel outing below...
"Yes, yes, very much so. It is a period. There were a lot of smart people, who noticed that that cityscape didn't look exactly like the New York that we know, or that existed in the '60s in our world. Those are smart observations, I'll say."
The events of The Fantastic Four taking place in an alternate universe certainly makes sense and will allow Marvel to introduce established versions of the iconic characters without having to explain why they have been absent all this time. At present, it is unknown how or why The Fantastic Four end up in the main MCU, but it will no doubt have something to do with the arrival of the planet-devouring cosmic entity, Galactus.
Could we start off with a happy-go-lucky version of the foursome who fail to save their own universe and must travel to Earth-616 to warn of the threat of Galactus? We will have to wait until next year to find out...
