Howard Stern didn't think twice about immediately accepting Jerry Seinfeld's apology for saying he was 'outflanked' by other comedy podcasters considering he's regretted numerous things he's uttered on the radio over his four-decade career.
'Howard Stern invented this, right? But we're better than him now. Howard is interesting. Howard is a great interviewer, but comedy chops, I mean, can we speak candidly?' the 70-year-old billionaire comedian scoffed last Wednesday on Dana Carvey and David Spade's Fly on the Wall podcast.
'Let's face it, he's been outflanked by some... and yourselves, I mean absolutely, this show, comedy podcasts? This is the best one on the air.'
Upon hearing this, the 70-year-old shock jock didn't get upset, he just thought it was "weird" considering Jerry and his wife Jessica Seinfeld have been 'personal friends' of him and his wife Beth Ostrosky Stern for years.
Howard marveled on Tuesday's episode of his titular SiriusXM show: 'Especially his wife, Jessica, is really good friends with Beth. They text each other regularly.'

Indeed, the 52-year-old GOOD+ Foundation founder called the 51-year-old animal activist 'my friend, cat nurse, and therapist' in a 2019 Instagram post, gushing: 'Beth Stern you are the Empress of Cat World and I am your faithful, devoted servant.'
'I said to my wife, "This is weird. I just talked to Jerry! What's going on here?" I think he came off a really bad week, let's put it that way,' Stern noted.
The Queens-born broadcaster could've been referring to Seinfeld's commencement speech at Duke University in North Carolina on Monday where around 30 graduates walked out in protest, waving Palestinian flags, over his support of Israel.
On December 18, Jerry - who's descended from Syrian Jews - made a support visit to see the site of the Be'eri massacre and visit the Abducted and Missing Families Forum headquarters as well as the Brothers and Sisters of Israel following Hamas' terrorist attack against the Jewish nation on October 7.
Howard also could have been referring to Seinfeld's feature directorial debut Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, which is now ranked No. 5 on Netflix's Top 10 Most-Streamed Films in the States.
However, the 1963-set pastry war comedy currently has a dismal 42% critic approval rating (out of 107 reviews) and a 54% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
'Jerry called me immediately and was like, "Oh f***. I f***ed up. And I want to apologize." He goes, "You know when you're on the air and s*** just comes out wrong,"' Stern recalled.
'I said, "Jerry, you don't have to. Please, this is embarrassing. I'm the king of going on the air and having millions of regrets afterwards. Apology accepted. I don't care. And you know what? I don't know what I am. I always considered myself a bit of a comedian, but whatever it is, don't worry about it."'

The Emmy winner even offered to come to the studio located on the 36th floor of 1221 Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan to apologize to the former America's Got Talent judge on his show: 'I said, "Not necessary, I don't wanna get into it. It's awkward. It's fine! I've had to apologize to you for s*** I've said'
Back in the nineties, Stern recorded a song titled '17 with double Ds' to make fun of Jerry's four-year relationship with Shoshanna Lonstein (R, pictured in 1996), who had just turned 18 when she began dating the then 38-year-old Seinfeld co-creator
But the Private Parts author has since made up with Seinfeld - appearing on his Netflix show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee in 2014 (pictured), and Jerry made appearances on Howard's various shows in 1991, 1998, and 2014
The New York-born funnyman is next scheduled to perform stand-up comedy this Friday at the Louisville Palace Theatre in Louisville, KY

I f*** up sometimes, so it wasn't really that big a deal. I didn't really think much about it." He apologized. I was like, "Look, don't worry about it. No big deal."'
