FX's new show about Aaron Hernandez has been going for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks.
America Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez has been going in viral since it premiered for its soap-opera level production and boundless unintentional comedy, particularly when it comes to its portrayal of New England Patriots legends such as owner Robert Kraft, head coach Bill Belichick, and tight end Rob Gronkowski.
While appearing on Kay Adams' Up & Adams show this week, Gronk was shown a clip from the series, which sees the actor portraying him interacting with Aaron Hernandez for the first time.
Gronkowski isn't the only one to get the American Sports Story treatment, though, as the series' portrayal of iconic head coach Bill Belichick also wades into parody.
Even team owner Robert Kraft was poorly rendered during a scene that hilariously depicted the New England Patriots' NFL Draft "war room" when deciding to take Hernandez after already selecting Gronk.
American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, which airs on FX, stars Josh Andrés Rivera (Rachel Zegler's boyfriend) as Hernandez alongside Jaylen Barron, Lindsay Mendez, Ean Castellanos, Tammy Blanchard, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tony Yazbeck, Jake Cannavale, Norbert Leo Butz, and more.
